The central market - or Mercado Central - is a great example of modernist architecture from the year 1914. It has colourful ceramic tiles and an impressive entrance.

Aside from its aesthetic beauty, there are some delicious fruit, veg, fish and meat stalls.

La Lonja Silk Exchange is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous civil gothic monuments in Europe. It is just opposite the central market and covers almost 2,000 square metres.

Valencia's cathedral is a stunning building nestled in between two beautiful squares: the Plaza Reina Sofia and the Plaza de la Virgen. The cathedral is built on the site of an old mosque and over the years it has been adorned with a variety of architectural styles.

The City Hall - El Ayuntamiento - is a majestic building in the centre of Valencia with an impressive clock tower. There are two connected blocks: the Casa de la Enseñanza and a newer section added at the start of the century.
