Valencia Cathedral
Valencia's cathedral is an impressive building nestled between two beautiful squares: Plaza de la Reina and the Plaza de la Virgen.
Valencia City Hall
This majestic building in Valencia's city centre boasts an impressive clock tower. The building's two annexes are joined and comprise the older 18th century “Teaching House” and a more recent 20th century construction which includes the facade onto the plaza outside.
Carmen Church and Old Convent
The Carmen Church and Old Convent (currently houses the "El Carmen Museum") is somewhat off the tourist trail, which makes it all the more authentic and attractive.
Today the church is in use and home to the Santa Cruz parish. The former convent houses the Carmen Museum, which is dedicated to temporary exhibitions and is connected to the Museum of Fine Arts.
Colon Market
The Colon Market is another of the wonderful examples of modernist architecture on show in the city of Valencia, which shouldn’t be missed.

City of Arts and Science
Designed principally by Santiago Calatrava, the City of Arts and Sciences includes the Prince Felipe Museum of Science, L'Hemisferic 3D cinema, the Oceanografic aquarium, the Opera House Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, the Umbracle Gardens and the Agora building.
With its impressive avant-garde use of structure and space, Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences is well worth a visit for many of its attractions, one of which is merely to appreciate its architectural value.

TIP! The Oceanographic aquarium is open at night for those who would like to sleep with sharks or swim with dolphins.
Located at the eastern end of the Turia Riverbed Gardens, The City of Arts and Science is surrounded by attractive walkways and landscaping with water features and lush vegetation. Interwoven ornate roads and shallow lagoons surrounding the buildings, provide great photographic opportunities.
For those wishing to visit the aquarium and museum, we recommend you spend two days, as there is plenty to see.

How to get there:
Bus: lines 19, 35 and 40.
Metro: Lines 3 (red) and 5 (green) to Alameda. Approximately 15 minute walk from the station.
Train: Catch a train to either Cabanyal or North Station (main station). City buses are available from both stations to the City of Arts and Science.
Bus Station: Cross to the other side of the river and take bus number 95.
Car: Underground parking available at the Umbracle.

Art exhibitions
Valencia is a cosmopolitan city with an array of cultural activities and art exhibitions.
As well as major galleries and museums such as the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) and the Museum of Fine Arts, you'll also find exhibitions in various art galleries around the city. While more modest, these exhibitions are equally interesting and worth a visit.
Some of the smaller exhibitions can be found in the city centre in an area forming a triangle between Calle Avellanas, Plaza de la Virgen and Calle del Mar. You’ll also find galleries in the suburb of Ruzafa and Barrio del Carmen.
