Deceiving appearances, distorted visions, places immersed in a disappearing process, sweet dreams and contrasting colours. All form a part of the second Abierto Valencia art exhibition in Valencia from 24 to 27 September 2014.
With 300 works of art from 30 international artists, Abierto Valencia -- meaning "Open Valencia" -- kicks off the art season in the region. The event whets artistic appetities with presentations in 17 galleries in Valencia, 2 in Alicante and another 2 in Castellón. Each gallery works with neighbourhood artists and businesses to put together exhibitions with truly local energy.
Apart from attracting collectors and art lovers, the event aims to bring art closer to the general public too. With this in mind, 3 guided walking tours of galleries have been organised on Friday 26 September 2014 in the afternoon and on Saturday 27 September 2014 in the morning. As at last year's event, a panel of judges will choose the best exhibition which will be awarded a prize by Valencia's regional cultural ministry. Local businesses will participate in the prize ceremony and Valencian wine will aid the celebrations.
