Fantastic Fallas Finish with Fire

The night sky was on fire as the Fallas festival finished in Valencia, last Wednesday, with fireworks and the traditional burning of massive sculptures in front of City Hall.

The event organisers said the cremà was more than fire this year, it was also a symbol of resilience after floods hit parts of the region last October.

After the devastation, Fallas returned stronger than ever and for an emotional Berta Peiró, the radiant Fallera Mayor, it was a night to remember.

Berta kicked off the Cremà from the City Hall balcony, which was packed with dignitaries, officials, and Fallas fans. Excitement filled the air and spectators filled the square and balconies in other buildings, where VIPs enjoyed the best views.

The show exploded into life as the crowd was wowed with an epic eight-minute firework display. As the final spark faded, the traca - a huge line of fire crackers - was lit. Flames roared, engulfing the stunning sculptures and applause erupted around the plaza.

The fire burned long and bright, until the fire service stepped in, as planned, to extinguish the final flames, bringing to the end another year's Fallas festival.

Missed it this year? Don't worry, it'll all be repeated in explosive fashion in March 2026. Find our more about Fallas in Valencia and plan your visit now!
