Urban Art Attack at Valencia Marina

Urban art

More urban artworks are appearing around Valencia marina, as 10 artists are given free rein to paint and spray 10 walls around the docks.

The first of the new murals was completed by world-renowned Argentinian street artist, Martin "Gordopelota" Kazanietz, earlier this month. It depicts a man lying back, relaxing in the marina sunshine, with the Valencian bat symbol on his chest.

Next up will be French visual artist Olivier "2shy" Sujjkowski, who is sure to brighten up one of the marina car park walls with his iconic colourist style.

The new designs add to an impressive collection of eclectic artworks already found dotted around the port, making the waterside area a top draw for urban art lovers.

Existing images well worth looking for when you stroll round the marina include the giant fist by Mawe, Elrond and Jcé of the Grow Up Crew, painted in 2017; the Valentes image sprayed by Raquel "La Nena" Ruiz for local TV in 2019 and an abstract boat in front of the Varadero building.

While you're down there, make a day of it and enjoy a boat trip and lunch or dinner at one of the wonderful marina or beach restaurants too.
