Norman Foster's Conference Centre Reports 34% Growth

There was an impressive 34% growth in the value of events held at the Valencia Conference Centre in 2019, compared with 2018.

Known as the Palacio de Congresos in Spanish, the impressive modern corporate event venue was designed by British award-winning architect, Norman Foster, and opened in 1998.

Since then it has grown steadily in popularity with both national and international companies. Sylvia Andrés, the centre's managing director, told Very Valencia, today, that 48% of the value of business in 2019 came from international events alone.

The meeting venue won the Apex Award from the International Association of Congress Centres in both 2010 and 2018, in recognition of the highest client rating received by a convention centre globally.

The building boasts impressive eco-credentials with 8,000 sqm (86,000 sq ft) of solar panels installed on the roof and inside you'll find a main auditorium that can seat 1,481 people, plus two smaller auditoria, a bright exhibition hall and a number of multi-purpose rooms.

The success of 2019 at the Valencia Conference Centre reflects a concerted effort by the tourism authorities and local government to attract more business to the city, both to establish themselves here and to hold corporate events and meetings.
