One of the world's fastest growing tech festivals, the European Webit expo, has chosen Valencia as the location for its next event.
Earlier this month, organisers, the Webit Foundation, announced the Webit.Festival Europe event will be held in the city's marina from 17 to 20 June 2020 and will include more than 8 summits, an exhibition, a party and the "world's biggest" start-up challenge.
The foundation said they have chosen Valencia for its "unique combination between history and future [and] big ambition to develop its role as the next hub for technology and innovation in Spain and Europe".
Their Chairman, Plamen Russev, explains, "we go to places not to take advantage of the developed ecosystem, but to help create and grow ecosystems and to establish the city, the country and the region as a talent and investment attractive hub. To build unfair advantage for them and to help them grow their regional and global footprint."
This will be the fifth European Webit festival. A "mini city" will be built in Valencia to accommodate over 15,000 people from more than 110 countries, that organisers expected to attend.
Tickets are already on sale and more information can be found on the official Webit website.
