With over 20,000 runners expected, will more records fall at this year's Valencia Marathon and 10k runs, today?
The starting pistol fired for the first race, this morning, at 8.30am and, last year, records had been broken by lunchtime.
Organisers say a total of 22,200 athletes have registered for the races, of which 35.8% are from overseas. In total, it's estimated more than 50,000 people will visit the city for the events.
Valencia has postioned itself as a world-class city for running and the high participation level today reflects its success.
If you're in the city go along to the route and cheer the participants on, and don't forget there will be road closures affecting some transport.
