New challenges from the wind and sea

The sea and wind will be centre stage at two events at the end of the month. The second Valencia Boat Show and the 17th Valencia Wind Festival will host exciting activities at the marina and city beaches with new challenges and fun for everyone to enjoy.

The Valencia Boat Show, with more than 70 exhibitors, celebrates its second year from 24 to 28 April 2014 at the Juan Carlos I Royal Marina, by the Veles e Vents building.

Aside from the serious nautical business deals that take place, the show includes opportunities to try sailing, diving and stand up paddle, as well as regattas, fishing tournaments and more. Download the full program in Spanish here.

Away from the water there is a fantastic offering of delicious food, with a tapas festival and other gastronomical delights at the Pergola restaurant, and at the cafe and ground floor of the Veles e Vents building.

Next door on the Playa de las Arenas city beach, the 17th Valencia Wind Festival will take place on 26/27 April 2014. The event has its origins in man's desire to control the wind.

The seafront promenade will be transformed with colourful kites and other flying forms and other activities will be held around the beach, including acrobatic and static flying zones, with kite performances, inflatable aircraft and more.

The exact schedule will depend on the wind, of course, but you're sure to find something for everyone during this fantastic weekend of flying.
