New Year's Eve

Valencia rings in the New Year every 31 December with chimes and the traditional chomping of grapes at midnight, at City Hall square.

Every year the city hold's a spectacular free New Year's Eve party in the city centre with bells, light show, pyrotechnics and DJs.

Access to the square usually opens from 9pm, so get there early to find the best spot, then expect the party proper to start around 10.30pm and continue through until about 1:45am.

For the kids, a special family New Year event takes place in the daytime on New Year's Eve, with the children celebrating the 12 chimes of midday instead of midnight, and a host of other activities for them to enjoy too, such as games, fireworks, dancers, clowns and children's music.
