Almoina Archaeology Museum

The Almoina Museum is built directly on Valencia’s old city ruins and a visit allows you to see the origins of the city itself.

The Romans founded Valencia in 138 AD and the museum takes you on an exciting journey through the Roman city, and architectural elements of different periods including the Visigoths and the Islamic fort.

The museum is just around the corner from the Cathedral and Plaza de la Reina and boasts a backdrop of monumental buildings, second century thermal baths, ancient Roman city streets and a former Muslim city courtyard.
