Benicassim: from Scorching to Red Hot

A scorching Saturday in Valencia turned red hot at the Benicassim Festival, last weekend, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining an amazing day of music.

They crashed onto the stage with a roaring performance of Around The World and continued to thrill the crowd with a sensational set. Fans were kept waiting for some of their favourites though, with classics Californication, Under the Bridge and Fire only errupting towards the end of their show before climaxing with their modern rock classic, Give it Away

The festival near Valencian's beautiful Mediterranean beaches continued on Sunday, with another sizzling day of music headlined this time by Kasabian. The English rock band from Leicester closed the event with a polished performance in front of the screaming, sweaty, but happy crowds.

Reports say 177,000 people attended this year's event, which is being hailed a new success after some problems with line-ups in previous years. Local music pundits suggest this is the beginning of a new "Golden Era" for this famous Spanish musical event and look forward to seeing who will play next year at Beniscassim 2018.
