The Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Valencia will shake with music and clock chimes this New Year's Eve at a big, free public party. Expect the traditional midnight countdown to 2016, along with top live DJs, light-shows and Valencian specialty fireworks.
What the city council is billing as Valencia's "first grand celebration" will start at 11pm with a spectacular light-show to warm things up.
At midnight have twelve grapes ready for the Spanish tradition of stuffing one in your mouth for each of the twelves chimes of the City Hall clock, and wash them down quickly with cava so you can still say ¡Feliz año nuevo! to everyone around you.
Valencians are world-famous for pyrotechnics and on this night they will show off their talents with an extravagant firework show that will have you oo-ing and ah-ing with delight.
Keeping the party going until 1.30am will be DJs Elyella, Ley DJ and Paco Plaza playing live to the crowd from high up on the balcony of City Hall. After that, don't worry, there will be plenty of places around the city to continue the fiesta through to the first sunrise of 2016, and beyond!
